This an interesting little tale I had that happened to me sometime in July. From a simple question I posted on a Facebook Group, it grew into a little movement to help out an old man.!

In the past, there were many occasions where I finished my previous makes and then I felt compelled to start a new collection (it still happens :). Then I often have difficulty coming up with new ideas to create.

I love adapting random crochet techniques into Amigurumi making. This time I turned a popular textured crochet technique for blankets into feet for my amis! Using this special stitch allows me to make standing amigurumis! Read on to find out more.

My previous blog article touched on 3 different methods I use to attach limbs onto amigurumi and the first technique was the seamless technique. From this technique alone, I had a bobble stitch method, an extended half double crochet method and an extended bobble stitch method.

If you find attaching limbs to an amigurumi body a pain, you are not alone. In this post, apart from using a darning needle to sew on limbs onto the body, I utilized 2 additional methods to put these pieces together.

While we are on the topic on making spheres and cylinders, this was my biggest (and longest) experiment that I did back in 2016. I was trying to make a DIY furniture pouf for my new home back then. Cue the image just below was what I was hoping for. BUT the catch was I wanted to use old recycled T-shirts from my old home!

This time, I will be making a tiny little sphere on an existing flat circle, it is the same technique I used to make little tiny limbs for most of my early amigurumis.

Picked up a crochet hook and did something non-Amigurumi for once in a long time! This was a gift from my brother and his family back when I started crocheting. At that time, I left it aside because I was making mainly Amigurumi.

There are 2 parts to how to crochet a sphere. This is the 1st part just simply sing crochet in a round technique. In the next post, I will be covering how to use bobble stitches instead to create mini spheres as well.

This is the 2nd part on how to crochet a circle. Check out the 1st part on how I used a chain 2 and single crochet method to crochet a circle.

Previously I mentioned about how to start a round with that method but we do end up with a gap in the centre. When using the magic ring technique, you can pull the free end of the yarn taut such that the gap disappears!
