I’m super excited to unveil my latest series of tutorials, and it’s my very first attempt at video tutorials! Go check it out here or on YouTube and remember to pin the image above if you found it useful!

If you are wondering why I’m going through all these basic shapes, they are super crucial to figuring out how to design your own amigurumi!

First up, I’ll be going through the easiest and yet most essential shape series, consisting of circles, spheres and cylinders. Here’s the rough outline in the next few posts:

Circular series

  1. How to crochet a circle - using ch2 and Sc (part 1)

  2. How to crochet a circle - using Magic ring (part 2)

  3. How to crochet a sphere - crochet in a round (part 1)

  4. How to crochet a sphere - bobble stitch (part 2)

  5. How to crochet a cylinder

How I used circles, spheres and bobbles in my Amigurumi

To illustrate my point, this is how I integrated those simple shapes into my Looney Tunes Amigurumi!

These 3 examples I have shown has these 3 basic 2D and 3D components in them and makes up a small section of the whole ami. Of course there are loads of other shapes, but that will be covered subsequently.
