How to crochet a mini Captain America Shield Earring

This Captain America Earring is a quick easy way to test out your skills at crocheting circles and starting off with a magic ring! See the previous tutorials on magic ring here or chain 2 and single crochet here.

In this pattern, there are intentionally no half double crochet, double crochet, invisible decrease, for easier reference. Some useful external links also around to help out.

Terminology

Ch = chain

Sc = single crochet (2sc1 means 2 single crochet in same ch)

Sl st = slip stitch

St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)

1) Make a magic ring using blue yarn. If you are not sure how to, check this out.

2) Chain 1.

3) Round 1: Sc5 in magic ring. (5 st)

4) Close up magic ring by tightening.

5+6) Colour change to red yarn. If you are not sure how to, check this out.

7+8) Round 2: 2sc5 or 2sc in each st around. (10 st)

9) Complete round of 10 st. 

10+11) Colour change to white yarn.

12) Round 3: 2sc10 or 2sc in each st around. (20 st)

13) Complete round of 20 st.

14) Colour change to red yarn again. 

15) Round 4: (Sc1, 2sc1) x 10. (30 st)

16) Sl st to end off.

17) Make a small white star using sewing on yarn. 

18-20) Starting from centre of circle, branching outwards to blue-red border, total 5 times.

There you have it!

Just get the earring attachment and hook it on. If using bigger yarn and larger crochet hook, you could even make it into a nice coaster for your coffee!
