Introduction to Crocheting Tulip Flower with Stalk
In this post, we will first be starting off with the relevant supplies and techniques you would need to crochet this tulip flower. Here to make flower itself, we only be using 1 yarn colour, then the stalk will be in another colour. Then we will head into the pattern proper.
As this is a ambitious beginner pattern, here you will learn how to crochet a tear drop shape and petals without any special stitches, just increases and decreases in single crochet.

Terminology for Crocheting Tulip Flower with Stalk
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch)
Sc2tog1 = single crochet decrease (referring to invisible decrease)

3.5mm Furls Streamline Blush crochet hook
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Version 1 - Orange, Lime Green (25gm each)
Version 2 - Purple, Dark Green (25gm each)

Now that you have gathered your supplies and had a look at the basic terminology to reading the following pattern, let us first get started!
Yarn
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Crochet hook
2.5-3.0mm Clover crochet hook
Stuffing
Use leftover yarn or polyester fibrefill
Darning Needles
Safety Eyes
4mm glass eyes or safety eyes
Stitch Markers
Plastic stitch markers or metal stitch markers
Crochet Tulip Pattern
Crochet Tulip Bulb
Start off making middle part of tulip with orange yarn before moving onto petals.
Round 1: Magic ring sc5 - 5st
Round 2: 2sc5 - 10st
Round 3: 2sc10 - 20st
Round 4: (Sc1, 2sc1) x 10 - 30st
Round 5: (Sc2, 2sc1) x 10 - 40st
Round 6: (Sc2, sc2tog1) x 10 - 30st
Round 7: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 10 - 20st
Round 8: Sc20 - 20st
Round 9: Follow Round 8 - 20st
Round 10: (Sc2, sc2tog1) x 5 - 15st
Round 11: Sc15 - 15st
Add stuffing to the middle part of tulip.
Round 12: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 5 - 10st
Round 13: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 3, sc1 - 7st
Round 14: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 2, sc1 - 5st
Close up in FLO.
Crochet Tulip Petals
Use orange yarn to make petals.
Round 1: Magic ring sc4 - 4st
Round 2:
[Sc1, then ch15,
work into 2nd ch from hook, sl st 1, sc2, hdc1, dc2, tr3, dc2, hdc2, sc1,
go around foundation chain and work into the other side
sc1 (same as previous last stitch), hdc2, dc2, tr3, dc2, hdc1, sc2, sl st 1,
work down the middle of the piece with sl st 13 till reach the magic ring again, sl st 1 at bottom,
sl st 1 in same main st]
X 4 (all purple)
Round 3: Sl st 1 and end off - 1st
Sew the petals around the middle portion.
Crochet Tulip Stalk
Use green yarn to make stalk.
Round 1: Magic ring sc4 - 4st
Round 2: Sc4 - 4st
Rounds 3-9: Repeat Round 2 - 4st
Then move onto making the first leaf.
Round 10:
Sc1, sc1 FLO, then ch15,
work into 2nd ch from hook, sl st 1, sc2, hdc1, dc7, hdc2, sc1,
go around foundation chain and work into the other side,
sc1 (same as the previous last stitch), hdc2, dc7, hdc1, sc2, sl st 1,
work down the middle of the piece with sl st 13 till reach the magic ring again,
sl st 1 at bottom,
sl st 1 in same main st,
then continue in round and sc2 - 4st
Round 11: Sc1, sc1 BLO, sc2 - 4st
Round 12: Sc4 - 4st
Then move onto making the next leaf in the next round.
Round 13:
Sc1 FLO, then ch15,
work into 2nd ch from hook, sl st 1, sc2, hdc1, dc7, hdc2, sc1,
