Free Crochet Easter Garland Pattern

After trying out some of the flat and 3D easter egg pattern, try out this Easter garland pattern which showcases a bunny head alternating with easter eggs! They work up really quickly and seamlessly with no sewing involve. Change up the colours to get different variations and use them for your Easter home decoration this season!

    Introduction to Crocheting Easter Garland

    In this post, we will first be starting off with the relevant supplies and techniques you would need to crochet this small egg. Here to make this garland, we only be using total of 3 colours, more about supplies below. Then we will head into the pattern proper.

    This is a slightly more ambitious beginner pattern, because of the use of the cluster stitch to make the mini Easter egg on the chain seamlessly.

    Supplies and Techniques for Crocheting Easter Garland

    Here I have listed the techniques as well as the materials needed to crochet an Easter garland.     Terminology for Crocheting Easter Bunting

    Ch = chain

    Sc = single crochet

    Sl st = slip stitch 

    St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)

    2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch) 

    2hdc1 = half double crochet increase

    2dc1 = double crochet increase

    4tr1 cluster = 4 treble crochet cluster stitch

    • [Yarn over twice, insert your hook into the designated stitch, pull up a loop, then repeat the "yarn over, pull through 2 loops" action 2 more times]**, repeat ** total 5 times so you have 5 loops on your hook before finally yarn over and pulling through all of them at once

    Materials and Tools for Crocheting Egg Garland

    3.5mm Furls Streamline Blush crochet hook

    Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn

    • Version 1 - Orange, Blue, Light blue (25gm each)

    • Version 2 - White, Yellow, Green (25gm each)

    Darning needle

    Scissors

    Stuffing

    Use leftover yarn or polyester fibrefill

    Darning Needles

    Orange bunny and blue egg

    Row 1: Ch100 (light blue)

    Row 2: Work into 2nd chain from hook, sl st 9 (light blue), ch5 (orange), [ch2 (orange), work into 2nd ch from hook**, (2hdc1, 2dc1, 2hdc1, sl st 1 (orange)], ch6 (orange), work into 2nd ch from hook down the ch, sl st 1 (orange), hdc3 (orange), sl st 1 (orange), sl st 1 into main ch**, work down initial chain, sl st 1 (orange), hdc3 (orange), sl st 1 (orange), sl st 1 back onto main ch (light blue)

    Sl st 8 (light blue), ch4 (blue), 4tr1 cluster into 3rd ch from hook** (blue), ch4 (blue), 4tr1 cluster into 3rd ch from hook (blue), sl st 1 (blue) back into initial 3rd ch from hook (blue), sl st 1 back onto main ch (light blue)

    Sl st 8 (light blue), ch5 (orange), [ch2 (orange), work into 2nd ch from hook**, (2hdc1, 2dc1, 2hdc1, sl st 1 (orange)], ch6 (orange), work into 2nd ch from hook down the ch, sl st 1 (orange), hdc3 (orange), sl st 1 (orange), sl st 1 into main ch**, work down initial chain, sl st 1 (orange), hdc3 (orange), sl st 1 (orange), sl st 1 back onto main ch (light blue)

    Sl st 8 (light blue), ch4 (blue), 4tr1 cluster into 3rd ch from hook** (blue), ch4 (blue), 4tr1 cluster into 3rd ch from hook (blue), sl st 1 (blue) back into initial 3rd ch from hook (blue), sl st 1 back onto main ch (light blue)

    Repeat 1 orange bunny, 1 blue egg total 5 times, then end with 1 orange bunny

    Then sl st 11 (light blue) and end off.
