Introduction to Crocheting Coloured Easter Egg
In this post, we will first be starting off with the relevant supplies and techniques you would need to crochet this small egg. Here to make this egg, we only be using 3 yarn colours. There will be a fair number of crochet colours changes involved. Then we will head into the pattern proper.
As this is a beginner friendly pattern, here you will learn how to crochet a egg shape without any special stitches, just increases and decreases in single crochet.

Terminology for Crocheting Coloured Easter Egg
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch)
Sc2tog1 = single crochet decrease (referring to invisible decrease)
Materials and Tools for Crocheting Coloured Spring Egg
3.5mm Furls Streamline Blush crochet hook
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Version 1 - Blue, White, Orange (25gm each)
Version 2 - Light Blue, Yellow, White, Green (25gm each)
Scissors
Filling – use leftover yarn or polyester fiberfill

2.5-3.0mm Clover crochet hook
Stuffing
Use leftover yarn or polyester fibrefill

4mm glass eyes or safety eyes

Round 2: 2sc5 (blue) - 10st
Round 3: (Sc1, 2sc1) x 1 (blue), sc1 (blue), 2sc1 (blue then white), sc1 (white), 2sc1 (blue), (sc1, 2sc1) x 2 (blue) - 15st
Round 4: Sc5 (blue), sc3 (white), sc2 (blue), sc2 (white), sc2 (blue), sc1 (white) - 15st
Round 5: (Sc2, 2sc1) x 1 (blue), sc2 (white), 2sc1 (blue), sc1 (white), sc1 (blue), 2sc1 (blue), (sc2, 2sc1) x 1 (blue), sc1 (blue), sc1 (white), 2sc1 (white then blue) - 20st
Round 6: Sc3 (blue), sc3 (white), sc4 (blue), sc2 (white), sc3 (blue), sc1 (white), sc4 (blue) - 20st
Round 7: (Sc3, 2sc1) x 1 (blue), (sc3, 2sc1) x 1 (white), sc1 (blue), sc2 (white), 2sc1 (white), (sc3, 2sc1) x 2 (blue) - 25st
Round 8: Sc12 (blue), sc1 (white), sc12 (blue) - 25st
Round 9: Sc25 (blue) - 25st

Cut off blue yarn.
Round 13: Sc2 (white), sc2tog1 (orange), (sc2, sc2tog1) x 1 (white), sc1 (white), sc1 (orange), sc2tog1 (white), sc1 (white), sc1 (orange), sc2tog1 (white), sc1 (orange), sc1 (white), sc2tog1 (white) - 15st
Round 14: Sc15 (orange) - 15st
Cut off white yarn.
Round 15: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 5 (orange) - 10st
Round 16: Sc2tog5 (orange) and end off - 5st
Close up in FLO and fasten off.
