Ways to crochet Mini Hoodies

Reaper Hoodie

I have made some miniature hoodies along the way…

The hoodie for the Reaper was adapted from my Kylo Ren pattern - in addition I extended it downwards to form a coat, and left some holes to put his arms through.

Through some trial and error (and some great internet resources!), there are 2 ways I used to make hoods for my Yarnlings:

1) Whip stitch together - rectangular piece in half

I adapted it from this great website with a lot of how-tos with video tutorials! She even did a step by step on how to make the hood with the coat. I first tested it out with Ygritte - I brushed the whole coat vigorously to get the fuzzy effect!

2) Open-ended sphere

Ok so this is my own concoction but it works out for some characters more than others. It essentially starts with a ch 2 then sc3 (to form the pointy end, instead of a magic ring) —> and it increases gradually each round to form an open-ended sphere to fit the head!

As you can see… I tried the sphere method for Kylo Ren but it turned out funny and tried the rectangular method for Luke Cage but he looked like ‘Little Blue Riding Hood’ so… there was quite a bit of unraveling going on.
