Wire work in Crocheting

Ways I incorporate wires into my Yarnlings

1) Body characteristics

Much like Slinky Dog in Toy Story, his body fundamentally includes a slinky. Using a regular highlighter pen, I wrapped the wire around it to form the body. Then I wrapped the wire around a toothpick to form the tail!

Harry Potter isn’t Harry without his glasses! I used it first on Velma from Scooby Doo using regular paper clips, which are actually pretty difficult to bend.

3) Weapons

Elektra’s Sai! That was fun to make - may do a tutorial on how to use wires to make it later on. I also used similar techniques to make Jon Snow’s sword.

4) Limb support

I used the wires internally for many 4-legged creatures I made - to shore up the limbs for support. Just like Scooby Doo here and Slinky dog above - even though it can’t be seen, the wires are pretty important to keep them standing up.

So there’s that! Even paper clips are useful too you know…

If you considering to get the craft wires, you can try it here…
