Making a Batarang... out of yarn
Summary of how I made it - using maroon yarn… because black can be difficult to see sometimes. I used more techniques in this one compared to previous Cap America earring.
Terminology
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
1) Start with ch 8.
2) Sl st 3 back.
3) Ch 3.
4) Then sl st 1 down then sc 1 next along chain.
5) Sl st down to next main ch.
6) Ch 3.
7) Then sl st 1 down then sc 1 next along chain.
8) Sl st down to next main ch.
9) Sl st 1 again along main ch, reaching near the end of the top row.
10) Sc 1 in last stitch then ch 2.
11) Then sl st 1 down along chain.
12) 3 hdc in same last main st. (Go around bend from top row to bottom row.)
13-14) Continue to ch 2 then sl st 1 back along chain.
15) Sl st back to same last main ch.
16) Dc 1 in next main ch.
17) Sl st 1 in next main ch.
18) Ch 3.
19) Then sl st 1 down then sc 1 next along chain.
20) Sl st down to next main ch.
21) Dc 1 in next main ch.
22) Sl st 1 in next main ch, reaching near the end of the bottom row.
23) Sc 1 in last stitch then ch 2.
24) Then sl st 1 down along chain.
25) 3 hdc in same last main st.
26-27) Continue to ch 2 then sl st 1 back along chain.
28) Sl st back to same last main ch and finish off.
Ta-da! I think looks nicer on my ear lobe, yes? Just in time to jazz up your upcoming Halloween costume!
