Introduction to Crocheting Heart Garland
In this post, we will first be starting off with the relevant supplies and techniques you would need to crochet this string of hearts. Here to make this heart garland, we only be using a total of 3 colours. Then we will head into the pattern proper.
As this is a beginner friendly pattern, here you will learn how to crochet a heart shape with basic stitches like single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet stitches.

Terminology for Crocheting Heart Garland
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
Materials and Tools for Crocheting Heart Bunting
3.5mm Furls Streamline Blush crochet hook
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Version 1 - Purple, Blue, White (25gm each)
Version 2 - Red, Pink, White (25gm each)
Scissors

Now that you have gathered your supplies and had a look at the basic terminology to reading the following pattern, let us first get started!
Yarn
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Crochet hook
2.5-3.0mm Clover crochet hook
Stuffing
Use leftover yarn or polyester fibrefill
Darning Needles
Safety Eyes
4mm glass eyes or safety eyes
Stitch Markers
Plastic stitch markers or metal stitch markers
Crochet Heart Bunting Pattern
Crochet Purple and Blue hearts
Ch100 in white.
Work into 2nd ch from hook.
Sl st 8 (white), ch2 (white), ch3 (purple), [work into 3rd ch from hook**, 3dc1 (purple), 3hdc1 (purple), ch1 and sl st 1 down (purple), 3hdc1 (purple), 3dc1 (purple), ch2 and sl st 1 (purple) into same 3rd ch from hook**] (purple), sl st 2 (white), sl st 1 (white) into same main st. Cut off purple yarn.
Continue along the chain.
Sl st 8 (white), ch2 (white), ch3 (blue), [work into 3rd ch from hook**, 3dc1 (blue), 3hdc1 (blue), ch1 and sl st 1 down (blue), 3hdc1 (blue), 3dc1 (blue), ch2 and sl st 1 (blue) into same 3rd ch from hook**], sl st 2 (white), sl st 1 (white) into same main st. Cut off blue yarn.
Repeat (1 purple heart, 1 blue heart) total 5 times, then end with 1 purple heart. Then sl st 11 (white) and end off.
