Free Mini Crochet Christmas Hat Patterns

Terminology for Crocheting Mini Christmas Hats
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch)
3hdc puff = 3 half double crochet puff stitch
= yo, insert hook in indicated, yo, pull up loop, yo, insert hook again, pull up loop, repeat one last time, yo, pull through all loops on hook
Materials and Tools for Crocheting Mini Christmas Hats
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Christmas Hat
Version 1 - Bright Green, White (25gm each)
Version 2 - Dark Green, White (25gm each)
Christmas Santa Hat
Version 1 - Bright Red, White (25gm each)
Version 2 - Maroon, White (25gm each)
Darning needle
Scissors

Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Crochet hook
2.5-3.0mm Clover crochet hook
Stuffing
Use leftover yarn or polyester fibrefill
Darning Needles
Stitch Markers
Plastic stitch markers or metal stitch markers
Crochet Christmas Hat Patterns
First I’ll start off with a green Christmas Hat, that kind of looks like a Christmas tree or even a party hat or maybe a combination of both. Here is the pattern and then it is followed by a video tutorial. Then for the next part, I’ll include a mini Santa hat pattern, along with its video tutorial as well.
Crochet Mini Christmas Hat Pattern
Start off hat with green yarn.
Round 1: Magic ring sc3 - 3st
Round 2: 2sc3 - 6st
Round 3: (Sc1, 2sc1) x 3 - 9st
Round 4: (Sc2, 2sc1) x 3 - 12st
Round 5: (Sc3, 2sc1) x 3 - 15st
Round 6: (Sc4, 2sc1) x 3 - 18st
Switch to white yarn for the last round.
Round 7: 3hdc puff x 18 (white) - 18st
Round 8: Sl st 1 (white) and end off - 1st
Top of green hat
Make a star in white, to be sewn down onto the top of the hat.
Ch2, sc1 into 2nd ch from hook, [(ch2, sl st 1 down ch), sl st 1 into main st] x 5
