Terminology for Crocheting Log Cake Roll
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch)
Sc2tog1 = single crochet decrease (referring to invisible decrease)
Materials and Tools for Crocheting Christmas Cake Roll
3.5mm Furls Streamline Blush crochet hook
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Version 1 - White, Dark Brown, Light Brown, Maroon (25gm each)
Version 2 - White, Maroon (25gm each)
Darning needle
Filling – use leftover yarn or polyester fiberfill

Maroon x 1 (25g)
Light Brown (25g)

Round 2: Ch2 (red), 2hdc1 in 1st st (red), 2hdc5 (red), 2hdc3 (white), 2hdc1 (red), join up by sl st to top of ch2 – 20st
Round 3: Ch2 (white), hdc1 in 1st st (white), 2hdc1 (white), (hdc1, 2hdc1) x 4 (white), hdc1 (white), 2hdc1 (red), (hdc1, 2hdc1) x 2 (red), hdc1 (red), 2hdc1 (white), hdc1 (white), 2hdc1 (white), join up by sl st to top of ch2 – 30st
Round 4: Ch2 (red), hdc1 in 1st st (red), hdc1 (red), 2hdc1 (red), (hdc2, 2hdc1) x 3 (red), hdc2 (red), 2hdc1 (white), (hdc2, 2hdc1) x 2 (white), hdc2 (white), 2hdc1 (red), (hdc2, 2hdc1) x 2 (red), join up by sl st to top of ch2 – 40st

Whipped Cream
Make whipped cream on top of cake roll all in white.
Round 1: Magic ring sc10 - 10st
Round 2: 2sc10 - 20st
Round 3: 3sc20 - 60st
Cherry on Top
Make cherry on top using red yarn.
Round 1: Magic ring sc5 - 5st
Round 2: 2sc5 - 10st
Round 3: (Sc1, 2sc1) x 5 - 15st
Round 4: (Sc2, 2sc1) x 5 - 20st
Round 5: (Sc2, sc2tog1) x 5 - 15st
Round 6: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 5 - 10st
Round 7: Sc2tog5 - 5st
Cherry Stalk
Using same red yarn to make.
Ch6 and then sew down stalk onto middle of cherry
